Well it's Sunday night, I made dinner,we had lasagne and garlic bread, peas and spinach salad. and now I'm finishing up with some cupcakes. I bought the funfetti cake mix and halloween icing. I was hoping Jake would help me but that didn't work out so well.Putting cake mix together really only takes one person. He did mix in the candy pieces though. they just came out of the oven and they smell good. Jake is having one warm with no icing, that seems to be the way most everyone in this house likes them. I like icing though,so I will wait for them to cool and ice it.
Last night we rented "Surfs Up" Linda suggested it. It was a really cute. Its amazing what they can do with animation. I liked the music too. One thing tht both Eddie and I got a kick out of was the way they aninmated the pro surfers as penguins, they had characteristics that made them look like the real person. One of my favorite lines is Jon Heder's character (the chicken) says he can feel it down in his nuggets. Its a good weekend rental.
The rest of the weekend I spent getting ready for my big trip to Hawaii. Its hard to get ready for Hawaii when all the stores are selling jackets and sweaters. Eddie was invited to go to Hawaii to video tape 3 or 4 semi pro surfers from Ventura. We decided to turn into into an anniversary trip. So we will fly out on Wednesday and then I will come back and Eddie will stay for another 5 days. We will celebrate our anniversary on Nov. 5th. We honeymooned on Kauai, that seems like another lifetime ago. We were so young we couldnt even rent a car! Im hoping for alot of rest and relaxation. I would really like to start and finish a book. oh this trip we will be staying on the North Shore. Can't wait for some shaved ice!

This is a picture that Jake's friend Andrew took last Wednesday when they were skating at the old Ventura Star newspaper building. Jake has been doing really well with his skateboarding. He has picked up a few sponsers. Factor 54 is a clothing sponser that has sent Jake all kinds of T-shirts and sweatshirts. And his other sponser is Redbull, they keep him supplied with energy drinks. Jake likes to take roadtrips to different locations to go skating with his friends. Often he will go down to LA to skate a bowl or some other famous skate spot. He is getting ready to take a trip to skate San Francisco this next weekend.

These are a few of the photos from our trip to the Dew Tour for Jake's 16th Birthday. Some of these pictures are at events and out to lunch. We had a fun time in Salt Lake City. We rented a house in cottonwood heights. Ate at several yummy restuarants and attended skateboarding, bmx bikes, and motorcycle events.
