I guess a few of people are curious about my reading ability. I am a good reader and I love reading but I am listening to the Book of Mormon on CD. I have a 30 min. commute each way to work. I bought the CDs last year. I was in the middle of reading the Book of Mormon from my "Family Book of Mormon" so I started listening to the CDs of the D&C while Jake was in seminary. I haven't ever read the D&C in book format before, and it was kind of trippy, especially because the narrators voice is very authoritative. So I wasn't super motivated.
Now my "Family Book of Mormon" reading has been a slow thorough study, trying to really grasp meaning and history, cross referencing. The Family Book of Mormon has lots of extra insights and details. BUT... I have been dragging it out and not consistent with my study. Then the Hinckley Challenge came along and I thought this will motivate me to read it quickly. I signed up online and started listening to the CDs while driving to work. It is a whole new way of understanding the Book of Mormon. Its different having it read to you. I pick up different things in stories and have time to contemplate what that must have been like to live through some of these events. I've been told that you gain different things from different reading styles and that there is benefits in all types of reading of the Book of Mormon. I highly recommend audio. I think everyone should try it.

I love this insight! I used to listen to the tapes on my commute when I was going to UW. Maybe I should try it again.
That is a really good idea. I would sometimes listen to books on CD when I was driving an hour each way to CSUN. I like to hear things read out loud. Although sometimes I "A.D.D." a little and have to listen to things twice. But it is better than reading everything three times like I do sometimes to let it all sink in.
you should send me one of the cds for when i drive back home. i could try it out for a little bit of my 10 hour drive. but i guess thats not for a while. im just eager for it to be summer :)
Interesting. I've never listend to any book on tape so I'll have to try it out someday. Luckily I don't have any commutes, but what a great way to pass the time when you do!!
