Mothers day

As we all know last Sunday was Mothers Day. My ward celebrated the women in the ward by having a luncheon for them during the third hour of church services. It was a nice simple luncheon, sliced meats and cheese to make a sandwich, and a green salad. For dessert they had chocolate cake and fresh strawberries. We still had a lesson but the men and youth took care of Primary and the nursery. It was very nice.
After church I went home and read for a while then took a nap :)
Morgan and Jake had cards and gift certificates for me, which were very nice (can't wait to spend them)
Dad called in the afternoon and told me that Aunt Lois was in town for the evening. So Morgan, Jake and I went over to Dads for a visit. It was quite the gathering. Katherine and Coleman came down, and Elaine, Nick and Derek were there too. Julie and Chris and there 2 boys came over as well.
Morgan and Julie made chocolate chip cookies for us all to munch on while we visited. It was great to see Aunt Lois and her husband Keith. I'm glad they made it to Ventura on their trip out here. Keith invited us back to Nebraska and told us that he would BBQ a goat for us. I told him "No thank you" but that I would eat chicken. I should tell you that we had been teasing Katherine about her chicken friends that summer she was back at Grandpa's.
So Mothers day was simple and enjoyable this year, hope that trend continues.
Check out this Mothers Day clip for a good laugh!

wow, lois and keith were in town at the last minute? I bet that was fun to get together. Your response to the BBQ goat was perfect. Happy Mother's Day!

Did Lois have her surgery yet? We were going to go to Purdum for Memorial day but postponed it until July so Lois could go to CA and have her back surgery.

I just watched the clip of Jake on the skateboard. That's crazy! I'm glad I have girls. Although I could see Maggie trying...

Glad you had a good mother's day - i'm so totally jealous that your ward fed you! Wow. I've never been in one that did that.
